Working with an extremely passionate and talented developer, we set out to create better tools for an industry that was just starting to blossom. Unfortunately, the boom in the industry was short-lived and had many investors hesitant to commit. While we still have all of the tools we created, they come with a cost that we were unable to continue and ultimately had to sunset the project.
The original release was aimed at creating consumer facing tools despite our desire to move into the b2b space, allowing us to prove the data model worked as expected and let us explore features that had not existed in the industry.

Dispensary Explorer

Heat Map
Our initial release had some unique dynamic features, allowing users to browse the full inventory of 95% of the dispensaries in the US. Users could search by location, brand, rating, strain, or even by a specific flavor with immediate results in their area.
We also offered a heat-mapping tool which rated the top 100 strains in the country and would show their migration patterns over time.

Strain Explorer
Wanting to move into b2b we pivoted with the data around the top 100 strains recognizing that no other company was putting out a definitive list. This led us to create a market analysis and reporting platform that could be leveraged by investors and business owners in the market.

One of my favorite pieces of the project was the creation of bud-e, an AI assistant with a bit of an attitude. Loaded with our dispensary and strain data as well as general knowledge on strain heredity, bud-e helps users with almost any query about cannabis. Utilizing blender and Adobe After Effects I was able to bring bud-e to life in 3 dimensions.
